The shopping list that adds up and keeps up

Put a recipe on the list in one tap, for the number of servings you chose. Smaquli adds up whatever appears twice, sorts by aisle, and you tick things off together.

The problem

Shopping takes ages, and I always forget something.

Two recipes with an onion each, a note that says "onions!!", and still a trip back to the veg because the cream was at the bottom of the list. And at home there turn out to be three jars of oregano in the cupboard already.

How Smaquli solves it

Put two recipes on the list

Try it below: put the recipes on the list and see what adds up, where everything lands and what doesn’t need to go on.

Example

Recipes

  • Creamy spinach pastaserves 2
  • Shakshuka with fetaserves 2

Shopping list

Fruit and veg

Dairy, cheese and eggs

Pasta, rice and world foods

Tins and soups

Herbs and spices

Always in stock (3)

3 things are Always in stock and stay off the list

  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

In the app

By aisle, with the recipe alongside

A recipe goes on the list for the number of people you chose. There, everything is sorted by aisle, and every line shows the recipe it’s for.

Oven-baked salmon for 3 onto the list. What you already have stays off it, and the rest is sorted by aisle.
Sorted by aisle, and every line says which recipe it’s for.

How the list works

Adding up
1 onion and 2 onions make 3 onions, and 200 g and 0.5 kg of mince make 700 g.
By aisle
Everything is sorted by supermarket aisle, in the order you choose. So you walk through the shop once.
Already have it and Always in stock
What you already have, and what’s Always in stock, stays off the list, but you can still see it. Salt, pepper and olive oil are in Always in stock from the start; you choose the rest.
Your own items
Loo roll or a bottle of wine go on the list too.
Without signal
The list works at the back of the supermarket where there’s no signal, and syncs up afterwards.
Together
Whatever one of you ticks off, the other sees straight away. One list for the whole household comes with Premium.

What it doesn’t do (yet)

  • Smaquli doesn’t make a meal plan (yet): you put recipes on the list yourself.
  • Smaquli doesn’t order anything from a supermarket. It’s your own list.

Questions

Can I put the aisles in a different order?

Yes. You put the aisles in the order of your own supermarket.

What’s the difference between Already have it and Always in stock?

Already have it is something you tick each time, on the list. Always in stock is a setting: whatever is in it, like salt, pepper and olive oil, never goes on the list.

Does the list work without internet?

Yes. You tick things off without signal, and as soon as you’re back online, everything syncs up.

Can two of us use the list?

Yes, with Premium. Then you share one list that updates live on each other’s phones.
